1. Our Mission and Values
The ALB- Colchester Anti Loo Roll Brigade was founded on the principle of community support. Our mission is to support the vulnerable and ensure no one in our local community is left behind. We recognize that modern slavery and human
trafficking are the ultimate forms of exploitation, and we are committed to ensuring our operations and supply chains are free from these practices.

2. Our Structure
We are a Community Interest Company (No.12668158) based in Colchester, Essex. We operate through a network of local volunteers, staff, and partners to provide youth mentoring & counselling, support to the most vulnerable in the community
including the homeless & victims of domestic abuse.

3. Our Supply Chains and Partnerships
As a community-focused organisation, our “supply chain” is largely local. It includes:
• Donations & Goods: Food, household essentials, and equipment donated by the public or purchased from local retailers.
• Services: Local tradespeople, transport providers, and event space operators.
• Collaborations: Working alongside other Colchester-based charities and the local council.

4. Due Diligence & Risk Mitigation
We take the following proactive steps to mitigate the risk of modern slavery:
• Volunteer Safeguarding: All volunteers undergo a vetting process. We ensure that everyone helping ALB- Colchester Anti Loo Roll Brigade is doing so of their own free will and understands our safeguarding policies.
• Safe Recruitment: We follow strict UK “Right to Work” checks for all paid staff and ensure that no one is subject to exploitative working conditions.
• Supplier Awareness: When purchasing goods or hiring services, we prioritise reputable local businesses and social enterprises that share our community values.
• Vulnerability Awareness: Because we work directly with people in crisis, our team is trained to spot the signs of exploitation or forced labour among our beneficiaries and report concerns to the relevant authorities immediately.

5. Reporting Concerns
We maintain an “open door” policy. If any volunteer, staff member, or member of the Colchester community has concerns regarding potential exploitation linked to our work, they are encouraged to report it to the Directors.
For external concerns, we signpost to the Modern Slavery Helpline (08000 121700).

6. Approval
This statement is made voluntarily to demonstrate our commitment to ethical community support. It will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors.
